This site is based in the town Helmira Heights located in New York. The year is 2012. Humans have been living in the town for many generations. Most do not know about the creatures that live among them, but some, like the ones in the government and the hunters do know of the creatures existence.
The Town of Helmira is a fictionalized town located in New York, United States of America. The town was founded in 1864 by three werewolf packs. The town had previously been inhabited by the Kanawaholla known as the Cayuga Nation of the Iroquois Confederacy. At the time the werewolves had taken up the lives of humans until they could get the land they wanted and be in a place where they felt safe from hunters.
It has been 148 years since the Town of Helmria was settled and for fifty years the town was without the intrusion of humans or other supernatural creatures. Of course from time to time a human would go missing and no corpse would ever be found. That was before modern times when tracing the culprit became easier.
Humans have lived among the werewolves for ninety-eight years most of whom don't realize it. There are however hunters that were either became hunters after learning the truth, or hunters that having heard some rumor came to the town of Helmira.
These rumors were bandied about by the government, proclaiming that the supernatural forces were murdering young and old people alike. But what the humans, even the hunters among them do not realize is that the government itself is kidnapping their own people to experiment on. And sometimes those experiments end in the death of the individual they'd taken without a qualm.
The government, not wishing the people to become suspicions planted the seeds of doubt in peoples minds. Not everyone believes it, but there are many who do and once they learn that the supernatural is real they are usually more inclined to believe their own kind.
Only in the last thirty or so years have vampires and shapeshifters begun to lay claim to some of the towns apartments, houses, businesses and land.
The werewolves thought they had it bad enough with the hunters living right under their noses, but to have vampires among them they feel is far worse. As for the shapeshifters many of them are indifferent.
